Treatise on Geochemistry has been published on 1 December 2003. This is the first time that one work provides comprehensive coverage of the full range of disciplines and topics in the field of geochemistry.
The application of chemistry to the study of the Earth has ancient roots. In the 20th century the subject became the organized and identifiable discipline called geochemistry, largely due to the pioneering work of F.W. Clarke, V.M. Goldschmidt, partly because of innovations in instrumentation, sampling techniques, and methodology, partly because of new theoretical insights. This treatise seeks to present a comprehensive, integrated summary of the present state of the field.
Elsevier will also offer the Treatise on Geochemistry in electronic format via the online platform ScienceDirect®, the most comprehensive database of academic research on the Internet today, enhanced by a suite of sophisticated linking, searching and retrieval tools.
